What is needed for online tutoring?
You will need the following:

Are students pre-tested?
Yes, for most of the subjects that we offer, we give FREE pre-assessment testing and phone consultations that monitor a student’s abilities and academic needs.
How do you place a student with a tutor?
After a student’s pre-assessment test is scored and the results are evaluated by our educational consultants, students are then placed with a highly qualified teacher/tutor in the desired subject area.
How qualified are the tutors?
Our tutors consist of state certified teachers, qualified tutors and graduate students studying in the education field.
Will the student be speaking with a tutor in real time?
Yes, our advanced virtual classroom application lets your child and teacher speak naturally to each other and work through lessons together using a shared whiteboard with pen-mouse (optional) and keyboard input. The internet technologies replicate the real world personal tutoring sessions online. The teacher and the student have two-way audio communication using special hands-free headsets with microphones, hooked up to their respective computers. They share the same electronic whiteboard, and exchange questions and answers in writing, which are displayed on both their computer screens. Though they are not physically sitting face to face, a real time one-to-one environment is created.
How is the curriculum personalized to a student's needs?
For most of the k-12 subjects offered, students are administrated a pre-assessment test to measure academic needs. Then the student is placed with the appropriate teacher/ tutor.
Do any materials have to be purchased before starting the tutoring sessions?
Not necessarily. Students and tutors work from the student's own class materials. However, sometimes the books and materials a client needs, depends upon which subject a student is being tutored in. Our SAT/ACT Prep tutors work from materials that align with the books in our store. Therefore, we strongly advise that our SAT and ACT Prep students to purchase the appropriate preparation materials from our online store. The only thing most students will definitely need, is a microphone. All materials can be bought from our online store.
How much are the tutoring services?
ACE Online Tutoring is one of the most affordable online tutoring services on the web. We offer tutoring services on an hourly basis for a flat fee. Our fees range from $28.00-$65.00. Please inquire within about our rates by contacting us via phone or e-mail.
How do you get started?
To get started, please click on the “Sign Up” tab at the top of the page. Fill out the required information, then click the submit button at the bottom of the page. After I fill out the information on the “Sign Up” page, what will be the process to start the actual tutoring sessions?
When a client fills out and submits the Sign Up page, they will be signing up for the one hour trial session. Clients will then be contacted within a 48 hour period to set up a date and time for the trial session. After the trial session is complete, the client has the option to sign up with ACE Online Tutoring for a month. Once a student is tested, assessed, and billed they are officially signed up with ACE Online Tutoring. He or she will be given their own screen name and password via e-mail. A convenient schedule will be made for the student to meet with their tutor and begin sessions. Sessions are usually scheduled between one to three days a week. Each session is recorded and monitored by an ACE Online Tutoring administrator. Sessions can be played back at the student’s own convenience. How does billing work?
ACE Tutoring bills its clients monthly. The client is billed a month in advance for all the sessions scheduled within that month. Appropriate times for the agreed upon sessions, are set up between the client and an ACE Online Tutoring representative. Pre-assessment testing (if applicable) is scheduled between the client and an ACE Online Tutoring educational consultant. What happens if a student misses an assigned session? Are they still billed?
Parents/Clients must give the proper 24 hour notice to Ace Online Tutoring, if their child cannot make a session. There are no make-up classes, if the proper notice is not given to cancel a session. When sessions are not canceled in the proper way, this takes away time from other students who could have benefitted from our tutoring services.
Do you tutor college level courses?
